Mia Luna serves as a Learning Specialist at the University of Utah where she is committed to serving student-athletes holistically with a strengths-based approach.Â
Originally from Sammamish, Washington, Mia previously served as the Post-Graduate Athletic Intern for the Learning Assistance Program at Texas Tech Athletics. In this role she provided individualized academic support to student-athletes, helped with tutor coordination, created programming, and served on academic unit committees. Prior to that, Mia worked in several roles within the University of Washington athletics department, including graduate assistant for the Tyee Club and assistant coach for the women’s rowing team.
Mia is a two-time graduate from the University of Washington where she was a rowing student-athlete. She holds a Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. This program allowed her to understand the current issues facing college athletics while building her understanding of student populations, and her passion for student-athlete support services.
Outside of the office Mia enjoys facetiming her family dog, reading, hiking, and baking.
