Patrick Jenkins joined the Utah Athletics staff in July 2024 as Senior Director of Athletic Training Services & Athletics Health Care Administration, and was promoted in 2025 to Associate A.D. for Health & High Performance and Athletics Health Care Administrator. He is responsible for the oversight and coordination of sports medicine staff and services delivered to Utah's student-athletes.Â
Jenkins came to Utah from the University of Washington, where he spent 22 years in the athletic training department; first as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the women's soccer, baseball and men's basketball programs. He then served as the Director of Athletic Training and Head Athletic Trainer & Men's Basketball Athletic Trainer from 2005 to May 2018, supervising and coordinating student-athlete health and well-being. Jenkins returned to UW in 2019 to work with the men’s basketball program to manage all aspects of player health and safety.
Jenkins played soccer for Central Washington University (1993-94) and later earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science while completing his athletic training education from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (1997). Jenkins went on to earn his master’s degree in human performance from San Jose State University (2002) while completing his graduate assistantship with the Stanford Cardinal (1999-2001).
Jenkins has also served as an athletic trainer with the San Francisco 49ers, the UCLA Bruins, and US Soccer.
Jenkins, a Fairbanks, Alaska native, has two sons, Talon (18) and Rylan (16).
