Ryan Gallant joined Utah Athletics in August 2021 as associate director of communications.
Gallant serves as the primary communications and public relations contact for the Utah skiing and baseball programs, while assisting Keeler McJunkin with coverage of Utah Football.
While in Salt Lake City, Gallant has led communications efforts for four NCAA Championships won by the Utah Ski Team, with student-athletes capturing 13 individual national titles. He has also covered 14 Olympic athletes with connections to the Utes. Gallant was part of the host planning group for the NCAA Skiing Championships held in Utah in both 2022 and 2026.
With Utah Baseball, Gallant has promoted all-conference selections in each of his five seasons, five MLB Draft selections as well as ABCA Gold Glove winner Alex Baeza (2022), Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year Bryson Van Sickle (2024) and Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year Randon Hostert (2024). He also played a role in media coordination surrounding the construction and opening of Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark, the program’s on-campus home that debuted in 2026. In addition, Gallant continues to lead a long-term archival audit of the baseball program, working to uncover historical information and preserve accurate records.
During football season, Gallant oversees the production of Utah’s weekly game notes package and assists with coordinating press availabilities. He was on staff for the program’s back-to-back Pac-12 Conference championships in 2021 and 2022, as well as consecutive berths in the Rose Bowl Game.
Prior to Utah, Gallant worked in communications at Massachusetts from 2017–21, serving as the primary contact for field hockey, women’s basketball, baseball and rowing, while also acting as the secondary football contact. He campaigned for 2018 Biletnikoff Award finalist Andy Isabella, who became UMass’ highest NFL Draft selection of the FBS era. In 2021, he promoted the Atlantic 10 runner-up women’s basketball team that made its first postseason appearance in 23 years. Gallant also coordinated photography assets for facility rebrands and organized a digital archive of approximately 10,000 photos across all UMass Athletics teams. During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, he promoted UMass field hockey alumnae Sarah Hawkshaw and Marlise van Tonder, who represented Ireland and South Africa, respectively.
Gallant began his career at Vermont during the 2016-17 academic year, where he served as the communications contact for field hockey, women’s basketball, women’s ice hockey, men’s lacrosse, cross country and track & field. He was part of the planning committee for the 40th anniversary celebration of the UVM men’s lacrosse program.
A native of Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, Gallant was named to the College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30 class in 2023 and served on the CSC Young Professionals Committee from 2021–25. He co-hosted a baseball statistics roundtable at the 2024 CSC Unite convention and was the official scorer for the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament in 2022 and 2023.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Massachusetts in 2016.
