TEMPE, Ariz. – The Utah track and field team opens the 2017 outdoor season at the Baldy Castillo Invitational this Friday and Saturday, March 17-18. The two-day event will be held at the Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

Competition for the Utes will begin Friday at 7:15 p.m. MT with the women's 200-meter dash. There will be a large group of Utes featured in the 200, some include freshmen
Holly Stallman and
Ann Wingeleth, juniors
Mesa Weidle and
Raynee Helm, along with senior
Rhianna Williams.

Utah will close out Friday's competition in the 400-meter hurdles and 2000-meter steeplechase. The 400-meter hurdles will feature two Utes, junior
Madison Lanford and freshman
Brooke Martin. Three Utes will compete in the 2000-meter steeplechase, which includes freshman
Ashley Licata and seniors
Dana Snell and
Becky Sarmiento.

Heading into Saturday, Utah will begin the second day of competition at the Baldy Castillo Invitational at 2 p.m. MT with the women's long jump. Wingeleth, Stallman, and freshman
Piper Wehrli will compete for Utah in the long jump.

Utah will also be represented in the high jump, 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 800-meter run, 400-meter dash, and 4x400 meter relay. Sophomore Chrissy Glasmann will also compete in the javelin for Utah.
