America First Ballpark Rental Opportunities
The University of Utah celebrated an exciting milestone prior to the 2026 baseball season with the opening of Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark.
Located on the southern edge of campus along Guardsman Way, the facility offers an intimate environment for college baseball while offering striking views to the East of the 11,000-foot peaks of the Wasatch Mountains.
America First Credit Union played a leading role in the $38 million project, partnering with the University of Utah through a landmark 10-year naming rights agreement that established America First Ballpark as the centerpiece of Utah Baseball. The project also received meaningful support from Charlie Monfort, owner and general partner of the Colorado Rockies and a proud Utah alumnus, whose generous contribution helped bring this state-of-the-art facility to life. Layton Construction served as general contractor, with architecture support from VCBO and Populus.
Ground was broken in Summer 2024 as crews set out to construct a facility that would serve Utah student-athletes, fans and the community alike for generations to come. Total capacity is 3,000, including 1,200 chairback seats plus a grass berm in the outfield. Fans are close to the FieldTurf playing surface, while still having the comfort of nearby access to restrooms, concessions and other amenities.
The field measures 340 feet down the left and right field lines and 400 feet to straightaway center. Adjacent to the playing surface is an indoor facility for the Utes, offering batting tunnels and a fully-resourced pitching lab. It also serves as a space for program alumni in pro baseball to come back and train during the offseason.
The program has an array of support areas within the overall facility, including a clubhouse, lounge, film room, weight room, sports medicine suite and equipment storage. The upper level includes a donor space, coaches’ offices, recruiting area and a press box with full capacity for game operations, media coordination and broadcasting.
