SEATTLE, Wash. - The Utah men's and women's swimming teams fell to Washington, the men losing 147-107 and the women trailing 157-90. The men's team is 0-2 and the women are 0-3 on the season.
Despite the loss, the Utes put in some good swims. Jon Wright won the men's 400 IM and 200 freestyle. Matt Chamberlain won the 100 and 200 butterfly. Johan Nystrom was first in the 100 free and Robert Renna finished second in the 1000 free.
For the women, Melissa Chamberlin won the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.63, she also swam to second-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Freshman Lina Borg won the 100 breast and Heike Kutz was second in the 100 back.
The men's and women's teams round-off their trip to the Northwest with a meet against Puget Sound Sat., Nov. 13 at 1:00 p.m.
