The Utah men's swimming and diving team is in fourth-place (302.5) following the second day of the Western Athletic Conference Championships. SMU still leads with 496.5, Brigham Young is second with 380 and Hawai'i is third with 355. Utah's 800 free relay team swam to a fourth-place finish (6:42.73). The Ute 200 medley relay team was also fourth (1:31.39). Junior Mike Greene tied for second-place in the 100 fly (48.52) and Johan Nystrom finished fourth in the 200 free (1:38.96). Both of the times qualified as NCAA B standard times. They will await the association's ruling to determine their NCAA Championship participation. Diver Nick Smith finished fifth in the 3-meter dive with 492.9 points. He qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 1-meter dive earlier in the season. In the 100 back, Rich Hall was sixth and Greene was ninth. In the 100 fly, Matt Chamberlain was eighth and Troy Johnson was 11th. In the 400 IM, Travis Harmor and Jon Wright tied for seventh. In the 100 breast, Bjoern Olstad was 19th, Kyle Kofoed was 20th and Daniel Godfrey was 22nd.
