Track Team Released from Hospital

SALT LAKE CITY - All eight members of the Utah track team admitted to the hospital following a bus accident Friday morning have been treated and were released as of late Friday afternoon. The team was en route to the Bob Gib Invitational track meet at Boise State University when its charter bus was involved in a massive pile-up on a snow-packed highway 84 approximately 20 miles east of Burley, Idaho.

The Bob Gib Invitational will go on as scheduled Friday and Saturday. However, an estimated 80 athletes from Utah, Weber State, Idaho State and Ricks College were unable to make the trip to Boise, Idaho, on Friday due to the winter storm.

The Utah team will spend the night either at a National Guard armory or hotel nearly Burley. The team is expected to return to Salt Lake City on Saturday.
