ALBEQUERQUE, N.M. - The 10th seeded University of Utah women's tennis team was thrown out of the Western Athletic Conference tournament by Southern Methodist 5-4.

Molly Sanderson and Heidi Thomas fought to a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles, while Ronnberg and teammate Brooke Wilkinson cruised in the No. 3 slot, but Payne and Irini Kotoglou fell just shy of bolstering the Utes into the finals, 9-7.
