SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah's No. 1 singles player Megan Payne continued her assault on nationally ranked foes by pounding the 1997 NCAA runner-up, MC White, 7-6, 6- 2, from the nation's #1 ranked team the University of Florida, at the Eccles Tennis Center. On Friday, Payne started off on a good note, defeating the 35th ranked player from Northwestern, Katherine Nasser, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. White finished the 1998 season ranked No. 39.
