AUBURN, ALA.- U.S. Open competition came to an exciting close on Saturday. Heidi Hausknecht and Kristen Kaiser were the only swimmers to represent Utah at this prestigious meet. The two Utes made a stand among a strong field highlighted with five Olympians.
It was a very successful weekend for Hausknecht, which included a sixth-place finish in both the 50 free (26.00) and 100 fly (1:01.46) events. She concluded the competition with a 16th place finish in the 100 free (58.13).
Kaiser swam to a 22nd place finish in the finals of the 800 free (8:56.45). She also claimed a 40th-place finish in the preliminaries of the 200 fly (2:22.90).
