Colorado Spring, Colo. - The No. 15 ranked University of Utah women's volleyball team defeated the Air Force Falcons in three games, 30-16, 30-13, 30-19, in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Sat., Oct. 27. Utah improves to 16-4 overall, 8-2 in the MWC. Air Force drops to 1-17 on the season, 0-11 in MWC play.
Utah was led by McKelle Stilson who picked up 11 kills for a .533 hitting percentage. Adrianne Drake and Katrena Ellett combined for 16 kills and Alisa Geddes notched eight digs in the match. Jackie Morrill posted 21 assists and six digs and teammate Kim Turner led the team with five total blocks. As a team Utah posted a .356 hitting percentage and 12.0 total team blocks.
For the Falcons, Delavane Diaz totaled 10 kills and four digs. Kristin Huitt and Katy Dildy combined for 17 assists in the match. Air Force hit for just -.068, adding just 5.0 total team blocks.
"We set some other goals this week and were able to meet them," says Head Coach Beth Launiere. "Our team came out focused tonight and we got a good road win."
