The University of Utah swimming and diving teams travel to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo on Dec. 14. The team will train at the center from Dec.14-22, which is home to the USA Swim Team. The Utes will train under the national team's exercise and science staff.
Utah is scheduled to participate in two swim sessions per day and weight training, along with classes on physiology, nutrition and biomechanics. The team will also take part in several studies at the center, which include a study on the relationship of drag and lift towards swimmers.
"It is a great privilege for us to train at our country's dedicated swimming center," says head coach Mike Litzinger. "The environment is of the highest caliber, and immersing ourselves in the Olympic philosophy is exciting for all of us."
