OGDEN, UTAH - The University of Utah women's tennis team (6-12, 3-4 MWC) upset No. 72 Weber State (13-5), 5-2, at the Weber State courts.
Utah won the doubles point by seizing wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Cassie Kasteler and Linn Ronnberg blasted Dana DeLancey and Claudia Oropeza, 8-1, at No. 2. Sheri Esrock and Linn Ronnberg combined for an 8-4 win over Briana Beauchene and Veronica Reynosa at No. 3.
Kasteler beat DeLancey in No. 2 singles action, 6-4, 6-2. At No. 3, Ronnerg forced Reynosa to retire. Utah won two three-set matches in the five and six slots to close out the team win. Esrock and Kareld beat Oropeza and Beauchene respectively.
