Ute Swimmers Give Helping Hand To Special Olympics

SALT LAKE CITY - The Ute men's and women's swimming teams volunteered at the Utah Special Olympics, held Oct. 3-5 on the University of Utah campus. The student-athletes and coaches ran the swimming portion of the games, which included officiating and timing the events, handing out awards, and lots of cheering on the side. The Ute swimmers have volunteered with Utah Special Olympics the last three years. Over 200 athletes participated this year.
"It was a wonderful opportunity for our team to be involved in something that's incredible, worthwhile and fun," said Ute head swimming coach Michael Litzinger. "All of the athletes involved showed tremendous spirit and love of our sport."
