BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Utah men's and women's swimming and diving team were at the Florida Atlantic Invitational on Friday. Four teams competed in the tri-duel meet, Clemson, Florida Atlantic, Northern Arizona (women) and Utah. The Ute men beat Florida Atlantic 143-130, but fell to Clemson by a score of 147.5-114.5. The Utah women beat two of three teams as they knocked off Florida Atlantic 162-126 and also won over Northern Arizona 186-113, but lost to Clemson 175-105.
On the men's side Cody Rempfer and Jonathan Larson each won two events. Rempfer was a winner in the 200 fly with a time of 1:52.09 and the 100 fly (51.10) Larsen was a double winner in the 50 free (21.13) and the 100 free (46.05). Matan Ratz won the 200 free with his time of 1:42.38. The men's record is now 5-5.
The women were led by two-event winner Neringa Statkeviciute who won the 200 free (1:53.19) and the 100 free (52.92). Tessa Greegor was the winner in the 100 breast with her time of 1:05.61. Utah's women improved their record to 8-5.
Utah will conclude the Holiday Training Camp in Ft. Lauderdale on Dec. 23. The next meet for the team will be at home on Friday, January 10 at 5:00 p.m. when Utah will host Oregon State.
