THIS WEEK:
Utah will have back-to-back home meets against Pac-10 powers Oregon State and Washington. Friday, Jan. 10 the women will host Oregon State at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday both the men and women will compete against nationally ranked Washington at 1:00 p.m. This weekend's meets will be held at the Ute Natatorium.
UTE NOTES:
The Utah women are 7-4 (2-1 in conference), while the men are 5-4 (1-1 in conference). Utah has had a great first half of the season and will begin the second half of the season this weekend. Conference play will resume for the women on Jan. 16th at Colorado State and Jan. 18th at New Mexico, while the men will be off until Jan. 24 versus Wyoming.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION:
The Utes will compete against two of the Pac-10 elite. Oregon State has a record of 1-1 against Utah under Head Coach Michael Litzinger. The Beavers beat Utah last year by a score of 116-89, and come into the meet with the third ranked breaststroker in the country. Washington comes into the meet nationally ranked. The Washington men are ranked 24th and their women are 25th. Utah fell to the Huskies last year.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK:
Utah traveled to the Florida Atlantic Invitational where both the men and women beat FAU. The men won by a score of 143-130 and the women won 162-126. Leading the way for Utah men was Cody Rempfer and Jonathan Larson who each won two events. Neringa Statkeviciute was a two event winner on the women's side.
