OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.- The University of Utah swimming and diving team continued to set records at the Mountain West Conference Championships on Friday. The Utah women are in fourth place with a team score of 347, while the men remain in fifth with a score of 291.
Kristen Kaiser set a new Mountain West Conference and school record in winning the women's 400 IM with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:21.22. Tessa Greegor finished second in the 100 breast (1:02.88), breaking a school record, her time was an NCAA provisional qualifier. Loren Sweny finished second in the 200 free with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:49.83. Neringa Statkeviciute finished third in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.13. The 200 free relay team also broke a school record with a time of 1:34.75, good enough for fourth.
On the men's side Evan Castro finished fourth in the 100 breast and broke a school record with his NCAA provisional qualifying time of 55.12. The 200 free relay team finished third with a time of 1:21.86.
The conference championships will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 22. The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. CST.
