EUGENE, Oregon - The University of Utah track and field team finished the final day of competition for the Oregon Invitational on Saturday, April 26. Hosted by the University of Oregon, the meet featured athletes from Utah, Utah State, Weber State, Boise State, Sacramento, Portland State, Washington and Montana State. The Utes had a great meet setting three NCAA qualifying marks.
Leading the way for Utah were Nellie Hammons, Torin Koos, Colby Frazier and Jeff Davidson. Hammons finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.71 and won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:34.90. Hammon's 800 meters performance was another NCAA qualifying mark for the sophomore. Frazier finished seventh in the 1,500 meters with a time 3:48.33, which was an NCAA qualifying mark. Davidson got Utah's third NCAA qualifying mark by placing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:07.66. Koos second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.98.
