Sweny Finishes Eighth At Canadian World Trials

SALT LAKE CITY - Ute swimmer Loren Sweny recently competed in the Canadian National World Championships trials in Vancover, British Columbia. The sophomore finished eighth in the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:25.87. Unfortunately, she missed making the Canadian team by a slim margin of two places.
At Utah, Sweny holds records in the 200 backstroke and the 800 and 200 freestyle relays. Last season, she swam to a first-place finish in the 800 free relay at the 2003 Mountain West Conference Championships.
