SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - Andrew Bogut tallied his eighth double-double in 11 games Sunday as Utah beat Cal Poly 92-76.
The 7-foot center was 9-for-16 from the floor and finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Utes (8-3).
Cal Poly (2-5) kept it close in the first half thanks to a good perimeter game that saw the Mustangs hit half of their 32 floor shots.
Freshman Dawin Whiten scored his team's first 11 points and hit his first four 3-point attempts, notching 19 points by the half. He finished with a career-high 29 points, fouling out with 7:32 left.
But Utah, which led 43-40 at halftime, pulled away early in the second half thanks to a 13-3 run capped by a breakaway dunk by Justin Hawkins.
Utah outscored Cal Poly 49-63 in the second half and had four players reach double figures.
Hawkins finished 19 points, while Richard Chaney added 21 and Marc Jackson 12.
