Upcoming Event: Skiing at 10K Classic (I) on January 4, 2026

THIS WEEK:
Utah will ski in the Colorado Invitational in Eldora, Colo., Feb. 20-21. This two-day event will be the last invite before the Regional Championships in Crested Butte, Colo.
The following is the schedule for the two days of competition; all alpine races will take place on Eldora Mountain on the La Belle Dame run, while all nordic events will be held at the Eldora Nordic Center.
Friday:
Men's Giant Slalom (8:15 first run, 10:00 second run)Women's Giant Slalom (12:45 first run, 2:30 second run)Women's 5K Classical (9:30 a.m.)Men's 10K Classical (11:00 a.m.)
Saturday:

LAST WEEK:
The Utes took some time off last week after skiing to a fourth-place finish in the New Mexico Invitational. In the invite, the men's nordic team won the 10-km freestyle event, while the women finished second in the 5-km freestyle.
Skiers Barbro Hatlevik, Sandra Gredig and Daniel Sonntag competed in the U-23 FIS Championships, last weekend in Soldier Hollow, Utah. Freshman Gredig placed sixth with a time of 3:12.63 in the 1.3-km sprint relay. Junior Hatlevik placed 12th and 15th in the weekend events. Freshman Sonntag did not start (DNS) the 30-km men's event.
UTE NOTES:
Sophomore Jess Kiesel will miss the rest of this season due to a serious heart condition. The Sun Valley, Idaho, native recently underwent a successful surgery procedure and is hopeful to rejoin the team sometime next year.
Freshman Casey Simons was named to the U.S. Ski Team World Junior Championships team after torching the competition at the U.S. Nationals held in Rumford, Maine. The nordic skier earned this honor after several first-place finishes at the 2003 Junior Nationals.
Junior downhill skier Elisha Stephens will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury that happened during the slalom event at the Nevada Invitational.
NEXT WEEK:
Utah will ski in the WSC/Regional Championships in Crested Butte, Colo. These events will be skied Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27-28. The opening day will consist of the giant slalom and 5/10-km classical events. Day two will wrap up with the slalom and 10/15-km freestyle races.
