SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah volleyball head coach Beth Launiere landed another top recruit, signing Sydney Anderson (Salt Lake City/Alta HS) to a National Letter-of-Intent this afternoon.
"Sydney's athleticism, competitiveness and leadership makes her one of the top setters in the country," noted Launiere. "We are fortunate to have a player of her quality join the Utah volleyball program.
"We are excited about the future with the young players we currently have and the addition of Sydney to the mix," Launiere added.
Anderson will come to Utah boasting a wealth of top-level experience. Considered one of the top setters in the nation, the 6-foot Anderson was selected to the 2005 Junior National A2 team. She has also competed in Russia and Argentina during her four-year tenure with her USA/IVA High Performance team.
She has thrived in high school too, garnering all-state accolades the last three years as well as USA all-region honors the last six.
