SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Bryant Markson scored 12 points to lead Utah to a 68-51 victory Monday night over Division II Adams State.
The Utes (6-3) led the entire game, and were never seriously challenged by the Grizzlies (5-4).
Shaun Green scored 11 points for the Utes, making 3-of-4 from the 3-point line. Luke Nevill added 12 points and four rebounds.
Wes Jensen led the Grizzlies, scoring 17 points and shooting 5-of-13 from the 3-point line. Richard Mincy scored 15 points on 7-of-8 from the field.
With 11:41 left in the second half, Jensen hit a 3-pointer to narrow Utah's lead to 41-33.
Utah responded with a 14-4 run that left the Utes up 55-37.
Adams State rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit with back-to-back 3-pointers to open the second half.
After Utah made a free throw, the Grizzlies closed the gap to seven points on a basked by Mincy with 18:15 left. That was the closest they came the rest of the way.
Utah shot 50 percent compared to Adams State's 39 percent on 20-of-51.
Adams State attempted 28 3-pointers in the game and made nine, compared to Utah's five 3-pointers on 12 attempts.
