Utes to Host In-State Rivals Weber State Wednesday Night
The No. 22/23-ranked University of Utah women's basketball team remains in the friendly confines of the Jon M. Huntsman Center Wednesday night, playing the third of a four-game homestand. The Utes will host in-state rival Weber State in a 7:05 p.m. tipoff.
Utah has won three straight coming into the contest with the Wildcats. The Utes current winning streak started with a win against Arizona on the road, then continued with home wins over Oregon State and Loyola Marymount.
Kim Smith tallied her second double-double of the season against Loyola Marymount. She put up 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Shona Thorburn tacked on 14 points and dished out five assists, while Jessica Perry tacked on 12 points.
Weber State and Utah have a very recent common opponent. Both teams' last game was against Loyola Marymount. On Saturday, Utah picked up a 63-47 win over the Lions and never trailed. Meanwhile, Weber State came from behind to top LMU 65-55 on Thursday.
Utah leads the series with WSU, 38-5.
