Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
"They did hit some big shots but for the most part I thought we did a pretty good job defending them. We got Nelson in foul trouble and that was one of the other big things we tried to do. For the most part though, we didn't shoot it real well tonight."
(On Andrw Bogut's performance) "Thirty-three and sixteen. I've never been around something like that."
"We got a little bit complacent. They hit some shots to get them back in it. You know college basketball is tough. There's no time to relax. We you get to this point in the season people are going to try to stop Andrew, so we need to be creative and find ways for him to get touches and chose way for him to be successful."
"They hit a couple of threes in the end and that is some credit to them, but I think we were pretty solid. We had a hand up and we were switching one to four at the time."
Utah Guard Marc Jackson
"It's a privilege to play with Andrew. He's great. He was composed today, he finished a lot of hard shots, and he made his foul shots today. That's definitely a big thing for a big man. I've always thought he was the best big man in there."
"You are going to have games where you struggle. Give Colorado State credit for putting us in that position. We pulled through. We had a hard time in the second half but we stuck with it."
Colorado State Head Coach Dale Layer
"I think we tried to be patient with every possession. We tried to treat every possession like it's our last. Jon (Rakiecki) hit some big threes and Micheal Morris made a big three, allowing us to climb back into the game."
"I thought our defensive effort today was great. I don't know exactly what they shot today, but I know we did a great job preventing them from scoring the ball. We lost a lot of our scorers with foul trouble, which really hurt us offensively. The threes allowed us to stay in the game."
"It's great to have Matt Williams back from injury. He helps our team not only offensively, but also with his overall presence. It would be nice to have Jason (Smith) back in the lineup, but Matt's a breath of fresh air for our team."
