SALT LAKE CITY - Five University of Utah swimmers will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to compete at the US Swimming World Championship Trials April 1-5. The meet will determine who will represent the United States at the US World University Games and the World Championships.
Junior Jonathan Larsen will compete in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, as well as the 100 butterfly. Senior Cody Rempfer will also compete in three events, the 100 and 200 butterfly events. Rempfer will also compete in the 200 IM.
Sophomore Andrew Cole is tabbed to compete in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, while fellow sophomore Marissa Martin will also compete in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Alison McInturff will compete in the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
"This is a great opportunity for our athletes," said head coach Michael Litzinger. "This is a unique chance for these athletes to compete for a chance to represent their country on an international level."
