Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
"Washington State was 7-0 with some good wins, so to beat them is big for us. We had some good energy, fortunately we had some shots go down. We're starting to get into a flow offensively."
"We found a niche. We don't need to throw it into Luke on the first pass and run some clock to get the defense moving. When Luke's in the game you always have him as an option after 15 or 20 seconds have gone off the shot clock."
"Shaun hit some big threes for us. He's playing with a lot of confidence right now. We're trying to have everyone do what they do best on the court and what Shaun does best is shoot the ball."
"This is getting to be a pretty unselfish team. Penetration leads to a pass, and that's opened up some open looks and offense for us."
I thought Daniel (Deane) gave us great energy and that Curtis Eatmon played as well as he's played since he's been here.
Utah Forward Shaun Green
"I just happened to be in the right place at the right time tonight. Tonight I felt like every time I shot the ball it was going to go in. I have to credit my teammates for getting me the ball in good spots."
"Our game plan was to get Luke going from the beginning which opened up the perimeter scoring."
"We were playing so aggressive on offense and defense."
"Last year they kind of embarrassed us and this year we wanted to get them back."
Utah Guard Johnnie Bryant
"We've been unselfish and patient on the offensive end. Coaches have been telling us to be patient on offense. If you have the open look shoot, if not look inside to Luke."
"We had a little chip on our shoulder and wanted to win. We were able to get it done tonight and now we're looking forward to Utah State."
"We've focused on taking care of the ball. We've tried to take what the defense gives us and play off of that."
Utah Center Luke Nevill
"Shaun Green is a really good outside shooter. When his man comes and double teams me I can kick it to him and he'll be wide open every time."
"It's great to be an undefeated team. Last year they beat us bad and that was unacceptable, so this game we tried to come in and play better."
"I think we did a really good job and really took it at them."
Washington State Head Coach Tony Bennett
"They got out on us and got too big of a lead. They thoroughly outplayed us. They shot the ball extremely well. When Johnnie Bryant and Shaun Green get it going like that--we knew those were their two outside threats--it was hard for us to get back in the game. We did a solid job early on, but those other guys got loose. We have to learn from this in a big way and in a hurry."
