SALT LAKE CITY - Utah basketball will make a record 17 appearances on national and regional television this season. The Mountain West Conference announced its 2006-07 men's basketball television schedule today.

The Runnin' Utes have a pair appearances on both CSTV: College Sports Television and Versus (currently OLN until Sept. 25). Thirteen Utah games will be shown on The MountainWest Sports Network - the mtn.
Two of Utah's nonconference games will be shown on the mtn., with the Utes hosting Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 8:00 p.m. and Weber State on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 8:00 p.m.
Four Mountain West Conference games featuring the Runnin' Utes will be televised to a national audience. CSTV will show Utah's road games at San Diego State on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 3:00 p.m. (PST) and at BYU on Saturday, March 3 at 5:30 p.m. Versus will broadcast Utah's game at Air Force on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 8:00 p.m. and UNLV's visit to the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
Eleven other of Utah's league games will be televised on the mtn., beginning with the Utes' MWC opener at UNLV on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 8:00 p.m. (PST). The mtn. will also show the Utah vs. BYU showdown in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 8:00 p.m. In all, 15 of Utah's 16 Mountain West Conference games will be televised on national or regional television.
An unprecedented 99 games featuring Mountain West Conference teams will be shown on national and regional television this season, including 65 of the 72 conference match-ups, and all eight MWC Championship contests. The television coverage provided by the MWC broadcast partners in 2006-07 is more than triple the national and regional telecasts MWC men's basketball has received in previous years. Seventy-five games will be shown on the mtn., with 17 to be broadcast nationally on CSTV and seven on Versus.
Today's television announcement reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of the mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network. The mtn. is the first ever 24-hour sports network devoted exclusively to a single conference. The mtn. will not only broadcast live games, but will air a variety of studio shows, including pre- and post-game shows, which break down MWC games, look ahead to the big games on the horizon and feature extensive game highlights.
In the Salt Lake City area, subscribers to Comcast Cable's expanded basic service plan can find the mtn. on channel 37 and Versus/OLN on channel 34. Ute fans who subscribe to Comcast's basic digital package will have access to all three channels--including CSTV, which appears on channel 269.
With 22 million subscribers, Comcast is the largest cable operator in the United States, and its network Versus/OLN is seen in more than 70 million homes nationwide. CSTV Networks, Inc., a part of the CBS Corporation, is the leading digital and cable programming company dedicated to college sports and is in over 50 millions home across the country. The mtn. is the nation's first Super Regional Sports Network and will feature Mountain West Conference athletics 24 hours a day.
