SALT LAKE CITY - Ute junior, Adrienne Coburn was named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday. Coburn earned the award for her performances against Wyoming and Air Force last weekend.
Coburn, a Park City, Utah, native, won seven events in conference action last week to lead the Utes to a 7-0 MWC mark. She helped the 400 medley relay to a 3:53.42 win past Wyoming before winning both the 200 IM (2:06.92) and the 200 breaststroke (2:19.80). Her time in the 200 IM is the fifth-best in the MWC, while her 200 breast time ranks second in the league this season. Against Air Force, Coburn had wins in the 200 medley relay (1:48.33), 200 free (1:53.69), 200 backstroke (2:07.68) and the 400 IM (4:30.26).
The Utes will be in action again on Friday, February 2, as they host in-state rival Brigham Young. The meet will be at the Ute Natatorium at 6:00 p.m.
