SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team will be playing in the Wilson/ ITA Central Regional Tournament this week in Tulsa, Okla. The tournament runs from Oct. 17-21 and will be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus.
The teams competing in the Division I Central Region Tournament include Tulsa, Arkansas, Missouri State, Southeast Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, ORU, Kansas, Kansas State, Wichita State, Nebraska, Creighton, ASU, UALR, Iowa State, Missouri, Saint Louis, Boise State, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Utah, Utah State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Air Force, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, New Mexico State and Northern Arizona.
Last year, the Utes hosted the tournament in Salt Lake City. Elizabeth Ferris of the Ute squad played into the semifinals. The Ute posted wins over Chie Hayasaka (BYU), Marina Sedivec (Colorado), Franzi Jendrian (Colorado), and Jenny Miccoli (BYU) before facing Annette Aksdal from Denver. The Ute fell 7-6, 6-3 to Aksdal in the semifinals.
