LOGAN, Utah - The University of Utah women's tennis team was able to shut down in-state rivals Utah State on Saturday 7-0 to edge the Utes' season to 5-4.

The girls started the competition off with sweeping doubles. Cheyenne Reveche and Emily Kwok teamed up at the No. 1 slot against the Monson duo from the Aggies. The Utes shut down Erin and Lauren Monson 8-1. Playing at the No. 3 spot, Karine Bourdages and Andrea Maughan took on Bridgette Strickland and Erin Crane. The Utes slammed a perfect 8-0 victory match over the Utah State duo.

Moving into singles play, the Utes continued their stride to dominate the Aggies. Elizabeth Ferris posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Erin Monson at the No. 1 slot. Reveche represented the Utes at the No. 4 slot against Lauren Monson from the Aggies. The Ute smashed a 6-0, 6-2 win over Monson.

Cinthia Saucedo competed at the No. 6 slot for the Utes against Erin Crane. The Ute edged out a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Crane. Kwok stepped in for the Utes at the No. 2 slot to face Dee-Dee Nelson from the Aggies. The Ute took the match 6-2, 6-1 to aid the University of Utah in their 7-0 win.
