BARTLETT, N.H. - The University of Utah's ski team concluded its season Saturday, placing fourth overall at the NCAA Championships with 536 points. Dartmouth won the national team title with 698 points.
"We had some strong individual performances, and improved a lot from last year," head coach Eli Brown said. "It's been a great experience, and I think next season we'll be even better."
Sophomore Scott Veenis placed sixth in Saturday's men's slalom with a time of 1:44.32. Tague Thorson straddled a gate in his second run and was disqualified.
Mikaela Grassl matched Veenis for the top Ute finish of the day, finishing sixth in the women's slalom with a two-run time of 1:46.33. Chirine Njeim also finished in the top 20, placing 19th with a time of 1:51.29.
