El Paso, Texas - The University of Utah women's tennis team took on UTEP on the road on Saturday for a 6-1 victory.

The Utes swept the doubles competition on Saturday at every position. Emily Kwok and Cheyenne Reveche took care of business at the No. 1 slot against Weronika Blaczynska and Megan Pritchard from UTEP for an 8-6 victory. At the No. 2 slot, Elizabeth Ferris and Leigh Walsh faced Isabela Kulaif and Marina Deluca from the Miners to smash an 8-5 win. Finishing up the doubles competition, Karine Bourdages and Andrea Maughan hit a clean 8-4 victory over Katherine Palider and Vicky Michaud from UTEP.

In singles play, the Utes brought their `A' game. No. 114 Ferris started the team off with her 6-4, 6-2 win over Weronika Blaczynska from the Miners at the No. 1 slot. Kwok represented the Utes at the No. 2 slot for a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Isabela Kulaif of UTEP.

Leigh Walsh stepped into the line-up on Saturday to play at the No. 3 spot against Marina Deluca from the Miners. The Ute sophomore played a straight 6-4, 6-4 win over Deluca. Cinthia Saucedo, represented the Utes at the No. 6 slot against Samantha Attard. Saucedo shut down the Miner 6-3, 6-3 to give the Utes a 5-0 winning advantage.

Finishing up on the courts on Saturday were Cheyenne Reveche and Karine Bourdages. Reveche stood in at the No. 4 slot against Katherine Palider. The Ute took the first set 6-1 and kept pushing in the second set, however, Palider stepped up her game. The Miner took the second set 7-6 (7-5) to tie up the match. Reveche kicked it up a notch in the tiebreaker to take the win 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-4).

At the No. 5 slot, Megan Pritchard from the Miners gave Bourdages a run for her money. The Ute took the first set with a clean 6-2 win, only to be challenged in the second by Pritchard. The Miner edged ahead in the second set to take it 7-6 (7-5) and continued her stride over the Ute to take the tiebreaker set and the match 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-5).
