WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - For the second time this season, Utah dropped a hard-fought five game match, 3-2, against Dayton at the Mortar Board Purdue Premier.
After falling in game one, 30-26, Utah rallied to win games two and three, 30-18 and 30-18. The Utes dropped the fourth game, 30-26 to tie the match at 2-2. In game five, Dayton took the game to match point, 14-11, before Utah came back to tie the game, 14-14. The Flyers took the game with a kill by Kortney Norris and a service ace from Bethany Akerhielm.
Utah was led by Kathryn Haynie's 18 kills and three service aces. Whitney Webb tallied 16 kills with 10 digs while Connie Dangerfield had 25 digs. Lori Baird hit a team-best .423, tallying 15 kills on 26 attempts with four errors.
