SALT LAKE CITY - Utah senior Morgan Warburton has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. It is her fifth career honor.
Warburton, from Helper, Utah, led her team in scoring last week, averaging 21.5 points per game. Against Jackson State, the guard recorded seven rebounds and five assists, while shooting 8-for-16 from the field and 2-for-4 from three-point range. Versus South Dakota State, Warburton, who was playing with four fouls in the second half, hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to one with 10 minutes remaining. She was one point shy of a career-high with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point range and 2-of-3 from the line. She was second on the team in rebounding in both games.
Warburton shares the award with UNLV's Erica Helms.
