"I thought we communicated well tonight just as we have all year long. I asked our team before the game to give their best defensive effort of the year so far and we came close. UC Irvine is a tough team to guard."
"Our goal was to hold them to 35% from the field. I thought if we did that, we would have a chance to win the game."
"UC Irvine is a scrappy team and they came back at us well. But we held on, hung in there and gave the effort needed to win."
On hanging on to the lead down the stretch:
"I felt we had it under control. We just kept defending, kept communicating, and Luka made his free throws. He has been great at the line all year. He was in those situations a couple times last year and missed them, so this was a big step for him."
On the return of Drca to the starting lineup:
"In games he plays, we have held opponents to an average of 37%. Without him, opponents are shooting 43%. He takes pride in his defense. He is a big kid with length and toughness. I have never had an issue with Drca's offense, it is his defense that helps us win."
