Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
"I thought we came out of halftime focused. We had the lead in the first half and I think we got a little casual and careless at the end. We can't do that. You have to give credit to Colorado State. Tim Miles has them playing really hard."
"We have a very competitive league, and our standing in the league shows we have a good team. I've said that all along. We have to get better ever day to become a great team. Hopefully today we took a step forward, by handling some adversity during the game."
"Our second half defense I thought was as good as we've been. We held them to under 40% on field goal shooting and that's what we got to do. They made some tough threes, but the job we did on [Marcus] Walker and our defensive intensity is what made the difference in the game."
"I didn't think we played bad in the first half, but I think we thought that winning would just happen for us, and it doesn't work that way. We have to grind it out, we have to be physical, have to guard in the system and I think we did that in the second half."
"On the games we don't win, our wings don't rebound. When our wings rebound, we win. Brown had seven rebounds, Kepkay had five and those are huge. To me, that is the difference."
Senior center Luke Nevill
"It's great to be in the record books at all. It's a privilege to be among the greats that have played at the University of Utah."
"The first half I was missing easy shots, I wasn't defending as well as I could and it was a little frustrating for me. At halftime I was recapping how I played and I wasn't happy with my effort. I didn't feel like I had played a solid game. I just came out in the second half wanting to perform better and help out my team."
"I'm contesting a lot more shots recently. I have stayed at home on my guy in the past and gave up layups and opportunities to block a shot. I'm trying to contest every shot around the rim and protect the paint."
Senior forward Shaun Green
"Coach has been getting on a lot of us to get the offensive rebounds a lot harder, especially me. I went to the glass every time or as much as I could tonight."
Colorado State Head Coach Tim Miles
"I thought our guys battled really well. We disrupted Utah long enough to hang around. We just missed some shots and I though Utah made some tough shots. The lead got to about eight or nine and then we made some mistakes. Jim is a smart coach and does a great job with them and that is why they win."
