-Utah's 88 points, 53 rebounds and 19 assists were all season-highs for the team.
-Utah's 53 rebounds marked the team's best performance on the glass under Boylen, topping the previous high of 48 in Boylen's first game, Nov. 9, 2007, vs. South Carolina Upstate. It is also Utah's best rebounding performance since pulling down 60 against Rice on Dec. 3, 2005.
-Utah's 40-point victory marks Utah's largest margin of victory under Boylen. It is also the largest margin of victory by any Utah team since posting a 40-point win against New Mexico (73-43) on Feb. 24, 2004.
-Southern shot just 13.3% (4-of-30) from the field in the first half, the second-lowest shooting percentage in a half by any Utah opponent in team history.
-After going 0-4 from the free throw line in the season opener, senior guard Luka Drca has now hit 10 consecutive free throws, going 4-of-4 vs. Southern and 6-of-6 in the previous game vs. Utah State.
-Drca tallied seven assists in the contest with zero turnovers. He entered the game leading the MWC in assists-per-game (7.5) and was ranked third in assist-to-turnover ratio (7.50).
-Senior center David Foster scored a career-high nine points and tied his career high with nine rebounds in only 19 minutes of action.
-Several other Utes registered new career-high scoring efforts: sophomore guard Jordan Cyphers (tie, 12 pts), freshman guard/forward Shawn Glover (9 pts), junior forward Matt Read (9 pts), junior guard Ricky Shoff (5 pts) and redshirt freshman Chris Hines (2).
-Shoff, Hines and junior forward Austin Robison played their first-ever minutes in a Utah uniform. Sophomore guard Tre Smith played his first minutes of the season as well. -Junior guard Carlon Brown scored 10 points, hitting double-figures for the third time in as many games this year.
-Freshman guard Marshall Henderson (13 pts) has scored in double figures in two of his first three career games.
