SALT LAKE CITY - Led by first-team selection Nick Cohee, the University of Utah had five skiers named to the All-Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association team on Wednesday.
Cohee was the top overall NCAA qualifier in the men's giant slalom and the second overall men's alpine qualifier. He had three giant slalom wins this year.
Thomas Zumbrunn was a second-team selection for the second year in a row. His best run this year was a second-place finish in the giant slalom at the RMISA Championships. He was the eighth overall men's alpine NCAA qualifier.
In women's alpine, Eva Huckova earned second-team honors this year after being named to the first-team last season. She had six top-six finishes during the year, winning the giant slalom at the UAA Invitational and qualifying seventh for NCAA's.
On the Nordic side, Even Sletten earned his third consecutive All-RMISA honor, being named to the second team this year. He came on strong at the end of the year, winning the final two classic races of the season at the RMISA Championships and Denver Invitational. Sletten qualified eighth overall in men's Nordic for NCAA's.
Annelies Cook rounds out the team for Utah. A second-team pick for the second season, she qualified ninth for NCAA's to lead the women's Nordic team. Cook had a pair of fourth-place runs on the season, in the Seawolf Invitational freestyle and the Colorado Invitational classic race.
The NCAA Championships take place from March 11-14 in Maine. The alpine races will be held at Sunday River resort in Bethel while the Nordic races are at Black Mountain Touring Center in Rumford. The meet is hosted by Bates College.
