Utah head coach Jim Boylen
"We have been stressing better defense and rebounding and I thought our defense tonight was as good as it has ever been. Our defensive rebounding still has to get better. I thought our defense kept us in the game tonight until our offense came around. We still aren't tough enough yet, but we got a little tougher tonight. Any time you beat an SEC team on the road, it's a big win for your program."
"David Foster was awesome tonight. Luka Drca and Carlon Brown hit some huge shots and Shawn Glover getting seven off the bench in the first half was great for us. Brown's defense in the second half was as good as it has been since he has been at Utah. His job on Tasmin Mitchell allowed us to guard better all over the floor. His foot was sore today but he battle through it."
"I love that we shared the ball, we had 10 assists on 21 baskets. It's amazing how at the end, when you share the ball, you win games."
"It has been an up and down non-conference portion of our season for a lot of reasons, we have some tough losses and some great wins. Injuries have been a part of it. I am thankful we are 7-7 but I didn't envision it going this way.
On missing Jay Watkins due to the death of his stepfather:
"Today was a tough day with Jay Watkins' stepfather passing, our guys were very upset. The team was pretty shaken up at our pregame meal. The players brought it up in the locker room, they felt it was important. Jay brings a great spirit and soul to our team and he is one of our leaders. Our guys felt his pain. Jay has the ability to pull people together."
Senior center David Foster
On defending LSU:
"They are physical and fast. Coach prepped us well but it was still tough at times. We were always playing them on the hip, so if we were late, they could beat us. We just had to keep at it and make them shoot over our length."
On getting the loose ball to effectively seal the win:
"When I saw the ball just flipping all over the place, I could just see Coach's face screaming to be tough and get the ball. I knew it was winning time."
On coming from behind to win:
"We didn't give up and a lot of other teams may have. We have seen a lot of blessings through adversity this year."
On missing Jay Watkins:
"We absolutely miss Jay and we wish the best to him and his family.
Senior guard Luka Drca
On coming from behind to win:
"We just battled. If our offense isn't working, we just have to keep playing defense. We stayed aggressive and eventually the offense came around."
On the importance of the win:
"This is a big confidence booster for us. We have won two in a row and now we have to keep our composure and start conference play well."
On missing Jay Watkins:
"This win was for Jay-Wat and his family. We missed him today. He is a great guy on and off the court."
