Utes Golf in 11th After First Day of Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M- The Utes golf team completed two rounds of the Tucker Intercollegiate and are currently in11th place with a total score of 604 (305-291). Freshman Ben Bankhead and senior Mike Branca's strong play led the team, both posting overall scores of 148.
Branca completed the first and second round with scores of 74, for a total of four-over-par, while Bankhead completed the first round with a score of 75 and the second round at 73.
Derek Adams finished with an eight-over-par score of 152 (78-74), tied for 43rd. Cody Hughes (77-79) and individual Chase Hite (80-76) completed the two rounds with a scores of 156 respectively, both tied for 66th. Jeff Kitches finished 83rd, with an 18-over-par score of 162 (81-81).
The top team of the day was University of Northern Texas, which finished even with par at 576.
The Utes returned to action this morning for third round play with a shotgun start at 7:45.
