North Dakota State, San Diego State, Weber State Match Notes
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Utah opposite hitter Karolina Bartkowiak earned her second Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season, the conference office announced Monday. It is the fifth weekly league honor of her career.
Bartkowiak, a 6-2 senior from Aurora, Ill., led the Utes to a 3-2 win over Deseret First Duel rival BYU on Friday night with a season-high 19 kills, while hitting .500 for the evening. She added 12 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. With her 17th kill of the match, Bartkowiak became the 12th Ute to join the program's 1,000-kill club and 35th MWC player to join the elite group.
For the week, Bartkowiak averaged 3.80 kills, 2.40 digs and 4.70 points per set, while hitting .500 (19-2-34) over five sets. She also had two assists, one service ace and seven blocks.
Utah hosts North Dakota State Monday at 7 p.m., at Crimson Court.
