Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
"In the second half, I thought we lost our momentum, lost our push up the floor, and bogged down a little bit and I'll take responsibility for that. We've got to do a better job of keeping the pace where we want it. I thought that they made some shots and that going small helped them get back in the game, which is a difficult matchup for us."
"Overall I think it's a step in the right direction. I thought our defense was terrific at times. Anytime you get 36 free throws, four guys in doubles [digits] and you only have twelve turnovers, with only four in the second half, I think you have to be proud of your team."
"We are a work in progress and we made progress tonight. There are a lot of lessons in this film."
"Free throw shooting is huge and historically we've been good at that. We've spent time on it and our guys are getting better. Upsets happen when teams make three's on you or you don't make free throws. That is usually when you can lose to a team that you should beat. We made our free throws and that was a big part of the game."
Junior wing Antonio DiMaria
"I was just a little more comfortable coming into tonight's game, I knew J.J. [O'Brien] was out with an injury so I had to come in and support the team and play my role well, and just stay mentally focused on the game."
Sophomore center Jason Washburn
"We knew they played behind and we wanted to attack them quick. Obviously, we got their big-guy out, especially in the second half, real quick and that was actually a big goal of ours.
"The best way to do that was to just go at him and they put the ball in my hands and all I had to do was make the play and I was feeling it tonight. A few of them went in so they kept going to me and I kept putting them in and that's how it was played.
Junior wing Will Clyburn
"We were aggressive in getting to the free throw line, and it's hard to stop us when we're doing our thing. With us, that means being aggressive."
"At the end of the second half we just played like we should've played when we had the lead, we should've stayed aggressive kept going at them."
Montana Head Coach Wayne Tinkle
"I was disappointed in the first half with our laziness with the ball. We had too many turnovers. We didn't defend with the intensity that we needed to develop. We challenged our guys at halftime, even though things didn't go our way, they made a nice little run out of the gate. I am really proud with the way our guys responded. We took a time out to challenge their toughness and we actually woke some of our guys up that were asleep a little bit early in the year. For us we have a really young team, a lot of new guys. We are going to be able to build off (our play) in the second half against a quality opponent in a tough atmosphere."
