Women's Basketball Rendition of 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team returns from a break for finals week against NAIA Southern Oregon on Monday, Dec. 20, at 7:00 p.m.
All children 12 and under will receive a free candy cane, and the players will debut their renditions of `Feliz Navidad' and `Silent Night' over the video board.
The Utes have been off since playing Mississippi State on Dec. 11. Utah fell to the Bulldogs, 61-52. Janita Badon had her second double-double of the year with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Iwalani Rodrigues continued her hot scoring run with a team-high 18 points and Michelle Plouffe scored 14.
Southern Oregon is 7-6 overall in the NAIA. Whitney Scott is averaging 12.2 points per game. Alexi Smith is also in double-figure scoring with 11.2 points per game. Krystal Smith has a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game. The Raiders play Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho, Friday and Saturday, before facing the Utes on Monday.
Southern Oregon will be the second NAIA team Utah has played this year. The Utes defeated Westminster on Dec. 6, 78-36. The game is an exhibition for SOU, while counting in the standings for Utah.
