-Junior center David Foster recorded a (season-high) seven blocked shots, setting a new Hawaiin Airlines Diamondhead Classic records for most blocks in a game and most blocks in the tournament. It was the third seven-block game of Foster's career, tying for the third-most ever in a game by a Ute. Foster also owns the school record of 10 in a game (12/2/09 at Weber State) and the second-place mark of nine in a game (vs. Colorado State, 2/3/10).
-Currently in third place on the all-time blocks list at Utah with 154, Foster is on pace to pass Mitch Smith for second place (157 blocks from 1985-89) during the Diamondhead Classic. He is also chasing the career record of 205, held by Luke Nevill (2005-09).
-Foster has now blocked at least one shot in 38 of his last 40 games over the last two years and has blocked multiple shots in 32 of those contests.
-Foster also recorded a season-high seven rebounds in the game. His previous season best mark was six against Fresno State on Nov. 30.
-Junior wing Will Clyburn recorded his fourth double-double of the year, finishing with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. He has been Utah's top rebounder eight times in 11 games and has scored double figures in all 11 games this year.
-Junior guard Josh Watkins logged team-highs of 17 points and four assists. He has led the Utes in scoring twice this season and has been the top assist-man in 10 of 11 contests. Watkins has also scored double figures in nine of Utah's 11 games this season.
-Sophomore guard Chris Hines scored 10 points to reach double figures for the third straight game. Sophomore wing Shawn Glover also had 10 points, logging his second straight double-figure scoring effort.
-The game marked Utah's first appearance in Hawaii since the Maui Invitational in 2002. Utah slips to an all-time record of 28-15 in all games played on the Hawaiian Islands, including a 7-8 mark in non-conference tournaments.
-Utah is now 1-1 all-time against Butler.
-The Utes will face the loser of the Hawaii vs. Florida State in the consolation bracket. Utah owns an all-time mark of 47-9 against Hawaii. If the Utes face Florida State, it will be the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
- Now in his fourth year at the helm for Utah, head coach Jim Boylen owns a record of 63-46 for a .578 winning percentage.
