-Junior wing Will Clyburn scored a game-high 24 points, which included a career-high five 3-pointers, all in the first half. His 20 points in the first half alone were the most in any half by a Ute this year. Clyburn has scored double figures in all 14 games this year and has been Utah's leading scorer 10 times.
-Clyburn was also the Utes' leading rebounder with eight boards. He has been Utah's top rebounder in nine of 14 games this year.
-Junior guard Chris Kupets scored a career-high 20 points, which included career-bests of eight field goals, four 3-point field goals and four assists (tied), in a career-high 32 minutes.
-Junior guard Josh Watkins scored 14 points, hitting double figures for the 11th time in 14 games.
-With one block in the game, junior center David Foster lifted his career blocks total to 160. Currently in second place all-time at Utah, Foster trails only Luke Nevill, who holds the career record with 205 rejections from 2005-09.
-Foster has now blocked at least one shot in 40 of his last 43 games over the last two years and has blocked multiple shots in 33 of those contests.
-Freshman J.J. O'Brien started the game at point guard for the first time, replacing junior guard Josh Watkins, who started the contest on the bench with a bruised shoulder.
-As a team, Utah made a season-high 11 3-pointers and shot a season-best 52.4% (11-of-21) from long range.
-After Portland started the game with a 13-1 run, Utah answered with a 15-3 run of its own to tie the game at 16-16.
-Portland put up a Utah opponent season-high of 50.0% (10-of-20) from 3-point range.
- The game marked the first-ever meeting on the hardwood between Utah and Portland.
-Utah falls to 1-4 in true road games this year.
- Now in his fourth year at the helm for Utah, head coach Jim Boylen owns a record of 63-49 for a .563 winning percentage.
