STEAMBOAT, Colo. - The Utah ski team closed out the NCAA Championship with a fourth-place finish, led by top-15 runs in the freestyle races from Didrik Smith and Zoe Roy.
Smith finished 12th in the men's 20-km freestyle with a time of 49:48.7. Martin Liljemark was also in the top 20, placing 17th in 49:59.4. Miles Havlick crossed the line 22nd for the Utes in 50:35.4.
Roy had her best career NCAA finish with a 12th-place run in the women's 15-km freestyle. She clocked in at 43:34.5. Rose Kemp came in 22nd in 45:04.6, followed by Sarah MacCarthy in 31st (45:51.2).
Utah had 595 points. Utah had its most points in the women's giant slalom event (111) as Eva Huckova earned 50 points for her win in the race.
"I am just so proud of all of these kids," Director of Skiing Eli Brown said.
Denver won the meet with 785.5 points, followed by Colorado (714) and New Mexico (677). Dartmouth was also in the top five with 523 points.
