PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah golf team completed the first day of the PING Cougar Classic hosted by Brigham Young University. The Utes ended the first two rounds in 12th place with a score of 602 (302, 300), 12-over par.
Joe Webber led the Utes with a 10th place tie after shooting a first round of 71 and a second round of 72 for a total of 143, one-under par.
Derek Adams finished the day tied for 66th place with a score of 152 (77, 75), eight-over par. One stroke behind Adams is Chase Hite tied for 70th place. Hite scored a two-round total of 153 (74, 79), nine-over par.
Kaleb Mahanes ended the day tied for 77th place with a first-round score of 81 and a second-round of 74. Rounding out the Utah lineup is Mike Branca tied for 94th place shooting a two-round total of 162 (80, 82), 18-over par.
The Utes will continue with the third round of the Cougar Classic tomorrow.
