On the first half:
I don't want to use us being a young team as an excuse, but we are a young team. We are all forced to play a lot of minutes. I think we had a mental breakdown and that's what we can't have in order to win games like this.
On turnovers and TCU's defense:
I'm short, they're long. I have to pass the ball, but I wasn't coming to a two-foot stop like I should, and so instead of passing to my teammates I was passing to the other team. I would say patience on our end, like I said we are a really young team and I don't think we have ever played a team, maybe Stanford, that was as long. Stanford didn't make us panic as much as we did today.
Interim Head Coach Anthony Levrets
On defense:
I was happy with our defense, but putting them on the line 22 times, it's a function of our team right now. We just don't get the ball inside enough or have that sort of presence that we can throw it down there and get that foul and get to the free-throw line. What we are putting on the floor against a zone, we're just not that big.
On Janita's flagrant foul:
I think she was competing. That kid is scrappy and it's the same kid that knocked Taryn's [Wicijowski] tooth out in the tournament last year. [Starr Crawford] plays hard and she was just a little chippy. But I was happy Janita didn't back down and give her a layup. I was happy to see her foul her and make sure she had to earn it from the free-throw line.
On offense:
I think we all panicked. They're strong and a much older team. When we were ahead, they just got more physical and they tried to push us around a little bit. And I thought that we panicked, we didn't back down, but we panicked a little bit and didn't execute our stuff.
